Multidirectional downtempo and uptempo electronics
In February 2024, we gave Anderdog’s Dog Eat Dog album a review (also available on Moscow’s Mestnost), calling it “a brisk, percussion-heavy assemblage.” A bewildering 21 tracks by multi-talented musicians who manage to reinvent an already amazing original album are included in the Dog Remix Dog compilation. It’s possible that the remixers were so inspired by Dog Eat Dog‘s core components—which is not surprising—that they felt compelled to incorporate their own distinctive sounds into this new effort. The end product is a plethora of broad and multidirectional downtempo and uptempo electronics that cross various subgenres and yet manage to blend together. Highlights are made possible by Anderdog himself, dj_balanov, Ambidextrous, Anton Take, Andrey Rasputin, Kokokei, nooMoon, and No Rules. With so many tracks that cover a wide range of soundscapes, Dog Remix Dog is one of our favorite remix projects this year.
