An EP that challenges the limitations of electro and illustrates the vastness of a sound that can often feel hemmed-in by exterior demands.
Reviews
dynArec :: Force In The Sum EP (Central Processing Unit)
For many true fans of electro, it should have a sci-fi, almost alien-like sound, and give highs in the living room or dancefloor—all of which is excellently executed by dynArec.
Printiig :: Interhymns (Point Source Electronic Arts)
Hailing from India, Shubharun Sengupta occupies the Printiig moniker and Interhymns is a ten track behemoth of electrical activity and shrapnel beats.
Seabuckthorn :: Of No Such Place (laaps)
I especially enjoyed the fact that there is still plenty of room for more experimental sounds and that the delicacy is not the big idea here.
BASTARD :: Full Bleed EP (Renraku)
A spontaneous yet refreshing EP; foraging glitch acrobatics with a roughened textural style.
Vails :: Elysian Fields EP (Subtle Energy)
Although Vails has enough dexterity to travel between genres, his synthwave sensibility seems to stand out, which could be a very promising direction for future releases.
Tom Hodge & Floex :: Je Suis Karl — Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Minority)
Floex’s electronics can be punchy and delicate in spots; they juxtapose Hodge’s flow of wailing orchestral sounds…
Fleck E.S.C :: Rough Silk EP (Central Processing Unit)
Fleck E.S.C (aka Franck Collin) proves yet again his ability to create music that is both unique and electro-centered—Rough Silk being his second EP for CPU.
Francis Gri :: Argine (Krysalisound)
Recommended listening experience for those into vaporous, slippery then semiclassical ambient sceneries.
Kab Driver :: Little Smoke EP (Acroplane)
Such a baffling and fresh take on experimental electronics to push us through this decade as we look forward to a follow-up full length, hopefully.
exm :: comp (Dyadik)
Everything on this release is easy to put on again and again, with so much going on it’s virtually impossible to take it all in during one sitting. Careful which track you choose to repeat though as you could easily lose your week to this one.
