A wondrous escape into dissolved electronics, off-kilter transformations and creative data bursts that ricochet with all range of delicate yet complex color.

Dissolved (aka Paul Daniels) revealed his latest as a self-released album in March 2014. Known for creating memorable, organized sonic blasts, Dissolved always maintains a central theme—that of swirling nostalgic frequencies buried in time. Fans of Gimmik, Brothomstates and older Aphex Twin will revel in these sparkling musical forms.

“Flame Colourants” reveals an emotive rhythmic cacophony, swaying ambient shifts, vibrant IDM/breaks as “Superfluity of Jeweled Bitterns” maneuvers crunched lightening bolts veering in all directions. “Eighties Ghost Books,” with its chimes in the background, staccato percussion and a faint lullaby chorus, shimmies about via crackling tones. “Opaline Karstic” and “Sea Leveled” features sound collages as Boards of Canada exhibits during their ambient interludes. Synth abstracts and muddied melodic hues are peppered throughout as Paradox Hues dives into all manner of electrical deconstruction. “Night of the Spicers” represents Dissolved’s classic sound—cascading yet brittle melodies and panoramic harmonies frolic with rolling bass. “Pyrite Beaches,” on the other hand, displays gritty technoid bass crunching (ref. recent Clark productions) that explode like supernovae.

In all, Paradox Hues is a wondrous escape into dissolved electronics, off-kilter transformations and creative data bursts that ricochet with all range of delicate yet complex color.

Paradox Hues is available on Bandcamp.
