co/wa is an ambient and experimental collaboration between multidisciplinary artist Julian Watts and electronic musician Jeremy Cohen—longtime friends reunited to explore connections between sound, environment, and technology. Their self-titled debut EP, captured in a single day and shaped over the course of a year, weaves together improvisation, synthesis, and field recordings, dissolving lines between organic life, human touch, and machine logic. Released on their newly founded Alpine, Oregon-based label BOA CVC, the project is accompanied by a visual language drawn from Watts’ penwork, offering a unified sensory experience.

The four untitled tracks meander and morph, moving with an ease that invites stillness. Gentle sonic fragments drift into one another—short, three-minute meditations that stretch beyond their length. Minimal yet rich, the soundscape breathes with subtle shifts: microtones brushing against soft neoclassical forms, ambient wisps tinged with quiet feeling. Each piece feels like a loosely held moment—unhurried, unforced, unfolding with the calm of a slow exhale. The EP closes in a hushed, contemplative mood, gliding on quiet electronic currents. Nothing clamors for attention, yet every element leaves a trace, like footsteps dissolving into wet earth.
