The palette of sounds oscillates between cold abstraction and tangible feelings of sheer melancholia. A soul crushing, slow moving and elegant minimal and semi-acoustic ambient release that will easily seduce fans of modern classical and sorrowful ambient romanticism.

Cold abstraction & tangible feelings of sheer melancholia

With other indie music labels such as Silentes and Midira Records, KrysaliSound stands as the most consistent Italian publisher in the field of micro-sonic soundscapes and hybridized drone electronica. Having discovered this label back in time with the release of Ojerum and Giulio Aldinucci—highly recommended efforts for aficionados of crafted based ambient and unsettling foggy drones—this new duet project titled That Which Is Not naturally found home among this contemporary community of sound artists pushed under a new light thanks to the continuous and generous work delivered by labels such as KrysaliSound.

Nicola Fornasari (Xu, La Petite Vague, etc) and Pier Giorgio Storti (Morose, Belaqua Shua) joined forces to lead mutual creativity around a cohesive blend of subtly cinematic layers and highly evocative soundscaping thrills. Both artists already benefit a special place in the universe of handy processed ambient music and DIY space of artistic inventiveness with materials signed on various small publishers (Eilean Rec, Triple Moon Records, Whitelabrecs). With its usual aptitude to draw concise and emotionally inclined waves of noises and drones Nicola Fornasari blends his alchemical sound setting with Piero Storti’s subtle and unique grimy instrumental acoustic textures, sometimes offering moments of rare poignancy and unearthly beauty through fear, desolation and sadness.

The palette of sounds oscillates between cold abstraction and tangible feelings of sheer melancholia. A soul crushing, slow moving and elegant minimal and semi-acoustic ambient release that will easily seduce fans of modern classical and sorrowful ambient romanticism by Jacaszek (at his most approachable song orientated moments) field rotation and tape loop orchestra. Infinitely recommended.
