This tribute is for Pete Namlook. To honor his memory, I brought together several artists who had worked with him or released music on his label. Deep, shimmering, imbued with hope and tranquility, but also a certain darkness of the deep preventing any tilt into New Age excess, it mixes several ambient stylings to sonicize various aquatic states and movements.
Through multiple evolutions along decades, with a refined combination of harmonies, a deep sense of space, a phenomenology of time and bright sonic manipulations based on acoustic timbres, Japanese artists invite the listener to enlightened and intuitive inner promenades.
The album spans 24 cuts almost exclusively from Móatún 7 artists, and these were selected from over 100 entries. It must have been quite the job selecting them. It’s a beautiful collection of emotional ambient music.
