Vinyl reissue of Richie Hawtin’s revered second album as Plastikman remastered from the original tapes. The 30th Anniversary edition of Musik, the groundbreaking second studio album by Richie Hawtin, has been announced for release on NovaMute on December 6, 2024. It is manufactured with environmentally-conscious packaging, pressed on bio-vinyl.
Interestingly, DAT Tapes Vol 02 casts light on a style that Jusat is not known for. There are moments of his trademark techno, but it is a more floor centric house that is at the heart of the record. The depth of previous productions is less evident, the explorations on offer being more rhythmic than melodic.
Our celebration, a devil-may-care romp in the aural delights of the machines, opens with some recent beauts from Gated before dipping into acid, breakbeat, electro and techno with records from Amenthia, Betonkust, Gated Recordings, Klasse Wrecks and heaps more.
There’s a rolling, inchoate feel to Descended Hope that gives way to perceiving and understanding the subtler transitions in the pieces.
Fragments is a very nice loop-based, drifty ambient album. Some classical sounds appear, such as guitar and piano, and they often evoke very traditionally human themes. The release is well mixed and mastered, and concern was clearly given to each composition.
Modular mayhem maestro Syl Kougaï makes a comeback with his Modular Series • Season-02 and the title of the first four episodes—A Journey into Organic Chaos—is fitting as it seamlessly takes us on a voyage through “reality-warping” soundscapes, industrial tropes, and crumpled electronic trails.
The duo’s exceptional ability to create gritty compositions, minuscule glitch shapes, and abstract vocal data streams, all coalesce in The Longer Morrow, a potent auditory collection.

Everything about this zero-sum EP radiates talent, from the grooves, to the effortlessness of the transitions, to the bangers, it’s really impressive.
Produced by Anders Ilar in 2015 while in Estonia, Tallinn Acid Tracks is out now via Acid Lathe—an experimental sub-label of Yard Rec—on a limited edition 4-track clear square 8” vinyl made individually on a lathe cutting machine.
All in all, calming ambient techno mosaics and expertly crafted soundscapes flourish within Four Flex One. Simply captivating.
