Facade Electronics presses forward with Sampler V, a twenty-four–track compilation curated by Fax that channels fractured digital forms, restrained pulse, and weathered ambience—shaped through tape manipulation, field capture, and atmospheric rhythm—into a quietly forceful survey of uncanny abstract electronics from Mexicali, Baja California.
Carpe Sonum Records—the North American distributor of Pete Namlook’s legendary FAX label—continues its legacy of immersive, unexpected sonic journeys with Elemental Studies, a compilation of film scores destined for a forthcoming quad stereo/visual installation. Spearheaded by multimedia artist T.J. Norris, the project transforms the natural elements into haunting meditations on the fragile balance between humanity and nature’s power.
This tribute is for Pete Namlook. To honor his memory, I brought together several artists who had worked with him or released music on his label.
