Highlighting hundreds of releases in 2024 (and allowing December to set in), we’ve compiled a list of our favorites along with links to their corresponding Igloo reviews and release pages. Since the lists are arranged alphabetically by artist—and a snapshot of tracks are featured in our Soundcloud playlist along with selected Bandcamp tracks and random artwork selections—there are, as usual, no winners or runners-up.
This assemblage being the fourth of the series, cascades without form, veering between the boundaries of experimental sonic media and next-level hyper glitch mechanisms, and is curated within introspective, low-flying IDM/braindance morsels.
Eighteen tracks and four bonus pieces are featured on ErrorBalm Vol.2 resulting in a combination of relaxed abstracts and tumbling electrical data streams that can feel overwhelming. With two volumes already published in 2024, we’re curious to see how much material the multi-talented musician has in his back pocket!
Fragmented glitch, beats, melodies, and esoteric rhythms push and pull in a variety of ways during A New Braindance Era, where precision clicks’n cuts are surrounded by complex layers.
Enabl.ed, however, pushes forward and creates a new chapter for IDM explorations with each piece having its unique sound fragment; punctuating sweet electrical “errors” that are sincerely esoteric and essential.
Remixes EP is an absorbing adventure through next-level electronic experimentation, taking careful note of the past and forging ahead with powerful new-school techniques.
On a first listen, one can recognize distinctive aesthetic elements of Autechre and Plaid. But the deeper you go, the more you assimilate the rich and complex array of sounds and rhythmic deconstruction that rarely follow a pattern.
The degree of abstraction in ±vMcÇ’s work is astounding. Warped glitches and breaks splatter across the terrain, gathering heavily processed found sounds, braindance components, and arcane rhythms into a disorganized muddle.
Bouncing Dance outlines Clean Error’s goal to revive the early IDM era and present new and intriguing sound sculptors who continue to develop fresh and original methods to portray it.

Clean Error have consistently been at the top of the heap; releasing experimental, glitch, ambient, and abstract IDM as the Errormatic series, which is now on volume 3, reveals an 11-track exploration while also acting as its own unique sphere of influence.
