Next-level electronic experimentation
These subtle micro-glitch extrusions by dämtone come across as translucent audio bubbles now expertly reinterpreted on the Remixes EP for Clean Error. Opening, however, with the pulsing mechanical bass-laden workout of “Whale Chantry (Terminal 11 Remix)” displaying shuffled breaks exploding into hundreds of pieces, “Debrisish (rinse.repeat Remix)” arches in the opposite direction with softer electrical bits and pieces coalescing around a delicate melodic rhythm. The ultra-processed hyper-glitch extension of “Debrisish (Hasbeen Remix)” wisps by effortlessly, refining itself along the way with pseudo-“Gantz Graf” contortions as does “Micro Party Stretcher (Gpakreep’s Deviled Egg Mix),” but with a more downtempo and sound design flow.
Cooling off just a tad, the blips’n bleeps of “Konnichiwa 1980 (enabl.ed Remix)” drift into the outer atmosphere, its minimalist outer shell breaking apart while closure “Konnichiwa 1980 (Nora & Tess Remix)” finds old-school IDM nuggets (think of Brothomstates and Lexaunculpt) for a beautifully enriched charmer.
