A hypnotic and disjointed hip-hop beats collection merging with strange electronic sounds.
Deep and dense rhythmic investigations
Through intricate electronic soundscapes merging with surreal, hypnotic and off-kilter beats, Belgian producer Trièdre (also known as LL321) takes us on a trippy journey with melting dark beats that sometimes mutate into gooey, slimy structures and non-Newtonian fluids.
Evasions Fertiles starts right away with “Pulsations” and its gritty, rattling drums rapidly panning left to right getting pressured by a heavy and ominous bass. The second track (“Crypte”) offers lighter drums, but keeps its dark, mysterious, and gaseous atmosphere, before the mechanical feeling of “Nexus”, spanning its sonic palette into unknown territories through the use of cryptic material sounds. Then comes “Orbite” and its robotic, industrial drums emerging through the fog surrounding this complex machinery. “Codex” brings us further into another reality with some clear beat work following dizzying patterns, while a discreet and eroded pad looms over the track. The sixth track, “Spectre,” has a more stripped down approach with slightly distorted, low-tempo drums surrounded by synthetic chimes.
On “Quantum,” efficient drum programming meets liquid textures and an intimidating atmosphere with an impeding synth pad watching over the track.
The meticulous drum programming with shining high ends on “Particules” feel like an outtake of Autechre’s LP5, where different metallic sounds blend together in continuous intricate patterns. “Métrique Cosmique” brings us in a brighter crumpled hip-hop feeling, the drums follow simpler but effective patterns alongside moving synths and strange voices.
Evasions Fertiles ends with the heavy “Noces Chymiques,” concluding this journey with what feels like an outer space communication, frequencies clashing onto fractured, overflowing and eroded percussion.
