LL321 :: Ballistics EP (Roulette Rekordz)

There are beautiful lines of haunting otherworldly melodies woven throughout some of the rhythmic fortresses, making this a very re-listenable release with a variety of moods and vibes.

Haunting otherworldly melodies woven throughout rhythmic fortresses

Dense and sometimes otherworldly, the tracks on Ballistics sometimes sound like they are themselves each composed of several smaller tracks interlocking with one another. The rolling layers of rhythmic percussion fill the EP thoroughly. There’s a certain abrasiveness to each piece but not so much one of darkness but merely the off-putting terror of indifferent alien machinery. There are beautiful lines of haunting otherworldly melodies woven throughout some of the rhythmic fortresses, making this a very re-listenable release with a variety of moods and vibes. An excellent chaotic ride for someone looking for something in the space between Richard Devine and Autechre.
