Strange Mountain II :: Please Wait For Me, Please Wait Forever (Polar Seas)

The sound architecture plays with short motives, patterns, and is hypnotically structured—sometimes punctuated by processed field recordings.

Polar Seas is one fine purveyor in the digital DIY musical business, surfing on the success of modern classical / warm-organic ambient soundscapes of the recent years (among materials from Hibernate, Home Normal, Gizeh Records et al). Since 2012 their catalog has provided a vast array of delightful ambient miniatures and home made deep listening excursions. Strange Mountains II is a dreamily evocative sound-art project from Indonesia. Highly productive, many tapes have been published on a diversity of micro labels. Please Wait For Me, Please Wait Forever is a wonderfully flowing and highly introspective piano-centered album engulfed by thrilling sonic resonances, spacious / echoing stringed vibes, slowly undulating electronic harmonies and piano continuums. The sound architecture plays with short motives, patterns, and is hypnotically structured—sometimes punctuated by processed field recordings. At the cross of reflective, sorrowing neoclassicism of Henrik Gorecki, soaked guitar textures of Rafael Anton Irisarri, and fragile synthesized ambient impressionist driftscapes of Eluvium.
