Rather than treating glitch as surface decoration, Signal_Black builds an entire skeletal language around it. What emerges is a unified, tightly constructed collection of focused (yet splintered) electronics—one that pushes exploratory sound forward through distortion, fragmentation, and a distinctly futuristic sense of movement.

A distinctly futuristic sense of movement
Revealed several months ago in April 2026, this sleek eight-piece suite (titled Disruptive Event) still carries a sense of propulsion and precise direction. From its opening moments, Signal_Black (aka Marcin) establishes a dense exchange between analog glitch and Autechre-influenced sound-design, immediately evident on “Higher Ground.” From there, the project descends deep below terra firma, evolving through scraped emotive melodic fragments and moving further into ambient-industrial IDM abstraction.
A fixation on roughened rhythms and microscopic melodic fibers gives “Internal Merge” its distinctive tension, folding broken structures into looping forms that gradually become cohesive without losing their instability. “Long Now” shifts toward wobbling bass pressure, while “TON” sinks into darker ambient territory, and what becomes more evident is that each track extends the artist’s interest in malfunction, texture, and controlled disorientation.
As the final pieces move through old-school Arovane-like finesse, especially on “Text of The Present,” “Chronic” delivers a more microscopic form of sonic deformation. Its fractured detail reflects the album’s central idea: a disruptive event capable of interrupting established operations, routines, or systems.
While Disruptive Event channels our favored old-school IDM mechanics associated with Richard Devine, Gescom, Funckarma, Alva Noto, SND, and Funkstörung, Signal_Black takes that lineage somewhere altogether stranger—refining tone, deepening texture, and redirecting momentum into a galaxy of its own.
