Maneuvering through dilapidated ambient-electronics, alien concrète reverberations and clicks’n’cuts, data swirl and digital flutter.
An electronic ethnography
NYC-based music producer/DJ, Ron Croudy, eclectic creator and electronic music aficionado, has been active now for over two decades. Debuting back in 1999 with two tracks under aliases technique:concrete and Cardboardmen, on the Töshöklabs Presents: Dated compilation on his own co-founded (now inactive) microlabel, Töshöklabs, he released his solo debut as Rontronik, Magma EP, in August 2007, since then he’s continued with exclusive production collabs, remixes and a catalog of digital releases incl. ongoing DJ mix podcast, Radio Rontronik, and weekly DJ set, Futurecurrent, on DeepspaceRadio.
Latest effusion, Majestic Mosaics, sees Croudy embark again on an electronic ethnography as Rontronik, resuming more or less where we left him on Zero Six (‘a slick four track extended player that rattles and hums with obscured sonic landscapes made of crumbling ambient and IDM shapes.’ igloo ’view), maneuvering through dilapidated ambient-electronics, alien concrète reverberations and clicks’n’cuts, data swirl and digital flutter.
Majestic Mosaics is available on Bandcamp.
