A resplendent summer retreat of impacting low-end crunch, dub, industrial, bass and electronics smashed into a brief sojourn for brain and body.

Ron Croudy and Nate Harrison (aka Rontronik and NKH, respectively) have been in full creative mode for well over a decade and continue to evolve new ideas to this day. Töshöklabs, Smartbomb Creative Studio and their curriculum vitae as DJ’s, producers and web-developers may ring a bell to those familiar with both artists so we’ll spare the historical credits and focus on this self-released four-track extended player (read more about Töshöklabs here). Quatro, you guessed it, is four (distinctive) compositions rolled into one cohesive unit.

Exhibiting their latest audio works in the field of low-rumbling, dance floor approved sonic explosions, electrical bits, bytes, bass and wobble tend to stretch into dubstep strains. All four pieces slither and burst into supernovae, yet each sculpture depicts a distinct, saturated musical pathway.

NKH offers contorted dubstep pulses via rolling rhythms on “I’ma Freak It” as “Four (To The Floor) Criteria” sheds a few tangible and inspired samples and eventually growls when fed its wide-spectrum synth’n bass infusion. Fans of Roel Funcken’s latest works with Schematic Music Company may revel in this powerful pair of epochs. Rontronik’s liquefied industrial dub-space and tantalizing hypnotics is in full-effect on “Shakka” as “FDSF” takes on a more downtempo stream filled with glitched bass’n clicks. There’s no question that all four tracks simply fit well together making for a split release that flows without disturbance.

Overall Quatro is a resplendent summer retreat of impacting low-end crunch, dub, industrial, bass and electronics smashed into a brief sojourn for brain and body.
