LAITR :: Aphoir (Acroplane)

A vibrant fusion of crisp, intricate, and sandblasted IDM transmissions, this collection signals a bold new chapter for both the artist and the label.

Described succinctly in the press release as “algorithmic sound design,” LAITR‘s soundscape of warped synths and abundant bleeps is pushed even further on Aphoir. Hints of vintage Gescom, Proem, Funckarma—and perhaps splinters of Shadow Huntaz—seep through the periphery, as the opening track “Onethe” glides in with fragmented rhythms and tonal shifts. “Vrae Elect” ventures into crunch-hop territory, where subtly altered vocal fragments flutter around an off-kilter groove, while the subdued drift of “Aleasre” offers a serene, sci-fi-inspired interlude—an ambient detour into digital recalibration.

The latter half of Aphoir delves into more shadowy, semi-industrial sectors. “Set SW Left” balances on sparse, fractured percussion and field recordings, while the abrasive onslaught of “Softs” erupts like a Merzbow entanglement. Highlighting sliced vocal treatments, the EP concludes with “Lem Motile,” a fusion of retro-futuristic electronics and sweeping synthesizer passages that channels Clark-esque clarity in a disorienting yet meticulously crafted finale.

A vibrant fusion of crisp, intricate, and sandblasted IDM transmissions, this collection signals a bold new chapter for both the artist and the label. Brimming with innovation and momentum, it’s a sonic powerhouse that demands attention and refuses to be overlooked.
