Somatic Responses :: Doomsday Conduit (Acroplane)

A powerful collection of tempered electronics that assimilates parallel genres to form the dynamic duo’s recognizable groove.

The industrial mechanics of IDM

They continue to punish beats and the industrial mechanics of IDM, yet with Doomsday Conduit, Somatic Responses pushes farther with saturated breaks and swirls of darkness emanating from distant planets. It’s as if the Healy brothers have found a never ending surplus of ideas; this time submerging their signature hard hitting rhythms with acidic swells and electro infested mayhem.

It’s a beast of an album that simply evaporates with the title track ripping through the fabric of drill’n bass distortion that fans of early Photek or Panacea might gravitate towards. The disgruntled beats and crashing rhythms overflow on “Slewed Diffusion” where carefully woven ambient strands entangle with glitchy sound fields casting an emotive shadow while “Other Destinations” breaks through processed drums and industrial overtones with its Gridlock mood buried deep in its construction. “SLec” takes us through scattered wastelands as fidgeting breakbeats and technoid clusters collide.

Doomsday Conduit is ultimately a powerful collection of tempered electronics that assimilates parallel genres to form the dynamic duo’s recognizable groove.
