The semi-tribal ambient-industrial and glitch manifests KORTIKO extracts from his machines on Course Interference is an utterly intense experience. Nemanja Rancic, the Serbian sound sculptor behind this EP, is also (not surprisingly) a composer for the screen. On Course Interference, he develops surreal and emotive soundtracks melded with sonic shadows and blurred vocals drifting in the margins. Within these four relatively short pieces, KORTIKO draws from a vast canvass of ethereal elements and rugged electronics, where synths and modular shades take center stage. Such creative forces in short runtimes can’t be easy, yet KORTIKO makes it explosive and inspiring. Extracting darkened electrical landscapes and turbulent sound structures, Course Interference is a succinct and compact release that will hopefully yield additional productions in the near future.
