C_C :: Voltiges (In Paradisum)

Where noisier sound effects continuously loop and eventually unfold, C_C finds just a little more fuel to add to these (already) densely layered tracks impacted by a myriad of abstract electronics.

Fuzzy, psychedelic, and musique concrète transmissions

C_C (aka Édouard Ribouillault) has been at his sonic craft for several years with labels such as Bedroom Research, Dataglitch, Da ! Heard It, Zamzam, Fougère, and Cold Moss (to name a few); sandblasting concrete slabs of electronics and balancing them with off-center rhythms, crumpled bass, and obscure rhythms. Having recently moved to the countryside, it feels as if Voltiges has been stripped from the artists’ IDM-centric trajectory and instead focuses on fuzzy, psychedelic, and musique concrète transmissions (ref. “Masse Grave”) right from the onset.

A mysterious migration of found sounds (ref. “Voltiges”) and chugging pitter-patter moods (ref. “Chute Libre À Babylone”) to swirling dub-laden lounge extracts (ref. “Humpty Bump”) allows the listener to lose themselves in these audible peripherals of dust and debris. The blissful noise constructs don’t stop there; “Goutte Froide” and “Ciel De Traîne” both reveal C_C’s adeptness to loop skewed notes and vocal samples/chants (also ref. “Ascendance”) in a sort of audio collage that grasps for our attention. Where noisier sound effects continuously loop and eventually unfold, C_C finds just a little more fuel to add to these (already) densely layered tracks impacted by a myriad of abstract electronics.
