Andrea Parker’s Touchin’ Bass imprint delivers a new Arovane release on 10 inch wax—a two track EP baking serious algorithmic exploration across Arovane’s trademark melodies.
Buried among the future thinking processing, those melodies gradually worm their way to the forefront of opener “Aarlenpeers” whilst a glittering array of heavy duty processing explodes around ever developing synth work. With a nod to adventurers in the outer reaches of electronic composition such as Autechre, “Il-Eth” mangles sci-fi percussive patters as pointillist sparks puncture the remaining available space. Arovane briefly gets his funk on during the closing seconds before things come to a tantalizingly quick close. Aarlenpeers is a fabulous braindance of the highest order and a tempting insight into future work from the German producer.
If just two new Arovane tracks aren’t enough, you’ll be pleased to hear that a couple of new albums are lurking for your ears over on his Bandcamp page—the Eleeve release a must for fans of that earlier Arovane sound from the ‘90s.
The Aarlenpeers EP is available on Touchin’ Bass.
