Julien Guillot :: Pink Snow (Concrete Collage)
This album is also some sort of a tribute to everything non-linear and unpredictable in the audio world, such as analogue circuits, tubes, spring reverb, tapes, all those things that made those pieces sound as they sound.
Kayla Painter :: Infinite You (Castles In Space)
A little less on the club orientated side than previous releases, Infinite You explores darker prospects and leftfield entities.
WE FORFEIT :: Radio Relativa #24 — Top tracks of 2021
The last twelve months has dissolved into a kaleidoscope of similar news stories, mutating variants and a continued sense of unease. Thankfully there is always music to sooth the fevered brow; music and tradition.
Modified Toy Orchestra :: Silfurberg (Bit-Phalanx)
At times there is a frantic beat to guide us off-world into vast, alien territories, and at other times there is a soaring glitchy drone melting into the background, with a melodic steampunk robot that comes and goes, stalking us through the entire voyage.
Tim Koch :: Volplaning (Central Processing Unit)
Following on from 2018’s Spinflex, this latest outing is most enjoyable. While in places it feels like raw studio shenanigans and output, that output has been carefully polished that oozes strength and control along the way.
Yellow Salamand’r :: The Best Of Yellow Salamand’r (Self Released)
Foraging through massive amounts of data and reconstituting them into byte-size recordings that have sporadic start and end points, The Best Of Yellow Yellow Salamand’r is a perplexing and dense assortment worth diving into head-first to unravel its mysterious trip.
4T Thieves:: Elder Dawn (Rednetic)
Elder Dawn dips and dives through a kaleidoscope of color to warm the winter months ahead.
amaranth_todd :: The Body Is A Prison EP (Detroit Underground)
Fully formed and constantly splitting apart, a wide angle lens is placed upon hundreds of microscopic bits, bytes, blips, and bleeps, providing ample room for expansion and artistic growth.
Daniel Avery :: Ultra Truth (Mute / Phantasy Sound)
Ultra Truth is a must have album not only for expressing Daniel Avery’s roots and shouting revival music to old heads, but for providing history to young electronic music fans in a contemporary couverture.
Long Range Desert Group :: Pro-oxidant (Mighty Force)
Pro-oxidant reveals itself to be a stunningly cinematic piece using a full spectrum of sounds from both the electronic and acoustic worlds.
