amaranth_todd :: The Body Is A Prison EP (Detroit Underground)

Fully formed and constantly splitting apart, a wide angle lens is placed upon hundreds of microscopic bits, bytes, blips, and bleeps, providing ample room for expansion and artistic growth.

Simply baffling and utterly brittle

A collapse in hyper-glitch worlds, spatial reconfiguration, and electronic data fields shifting, shuffling, and shaping itself into the most unusual forms, amaranth_todd delivers fractured yet emotive sonic morsels. The abstract rhythms, while seemingly coherent and flexible, tend to break apart just as quickly as they coalesce. A union between piano motifs and decimated sound design submerged in looping ambient atmospheres, these early works by Amaranth Todd are simply baffling and utterly brittle. Fully formed and constantly splitting apart, a wide angle lens is placed upon hundreds of microscopic bits, bytes, blips, and bleeps, providing ample room for expansion and artistic growth within and well outside of the genre. We’ll be waiting patiently for more.
