Gerald Donald (of Drexciya, Dopplereffekt, Der Zyklus, Heinrich Mueller, Japanese Telecom, Zwischenwelt, and many more artists) will be performing a rare (and only UK date) live A/V performance coinciding with the 20th anniversary of Arpanet’s first release, Wireless Internet.
An exceptionally rare line-up and gathering of minds
On April 8, 2022 Arpanet moniker Gerald Donald and The Book of Drexciya’s Abu Qadim Haqq will hold a UK event at the Invisible Wind Factory. In the unique location of the IWF Substation, the event will feature an exceptionally rare line-up and gathering of minds, all of whom have strong Drexciyan connections.
Gerald Donald (of Drexciya, Dopplereffekt, Der Zyklus, Heinrich Mueller, Japanese Telecom, Zwischenwelt, and many more artists) will be performing a rare (and only UK date) live A/V performance coinciding with the 20th anniversary of Arpanet’s first release, Wireless Internet.
A pre-party will take place from 8:00 pm until 10:00 pm, featuring the UK premiere of the legendary Detroit graphic artist and illustrator, Abu Qadim Haqq (the mastermind behind the numerous Underground Resistance and Metroplex releases, as well as Drexciya’s album covers and original artwork), who will be present for the very first time in the UK. He will unveil an exhibition and book launch of the new graphic novel The Book of Drexciya, which will also include a discussion, book signing and Q&A.
The club event begins at 10:00 p.m. and will feature a sterling array of Liverpool and Manchester’s finest electronic musicians and selectors, as well as special guest MDX (Andy Maddox, a member of the Gescom collective and the pioneer of seminal record label Skam Records, whose releases include Autechre, Boards of Canada, and VHS Head).
