Susumu Yokota :: Acid Mt. Fuji (Remastered 30th Anniversary Edition) (Sublime)
This 1994 album transcended expectations and opinions when it was first released, thirty years on it is still doing so. A fitting homage being paid to an artist who was utterly unique in his approach, a beautiful reissue of a milestone of electronic music.
V/A :: Futur (Funkscapes)
Founded on mixtapes, the label has grown into a full vinyl outfit with a catalogue of releases that have focused on disco, funk and 80s electronics. Venturing into the modern age, Futur is a compilation of four artists across six tracks.
David Morley :: Fashion (De:tuned)
Organ groans call forth earthen percussion, dripping clanks and clods of drum soon shed of their organic trappings as industrial tones begin to dominate.
Ken Ishii :: Reference To Difference (Remastered 30th Anniversary Edition) (Sublime)
Reference to Difference was made when Ken Ishii’s musical ability was beginning to take root and bloom, a time when music was shifting into something new and unheard. A release of the annals of electronic music history, lovingly, and thankfully, revived.
WE FORFEIT :: Radio Relativa #42 — 7″s from Salvation
A show that’s been in the making for well over two decades, two hours dedicated to the most minute of the vinyl formats: seven inches! Robbie goes deep digging into the seven-inch shoebox and comes up with a glut of gold from far and wide.
Heiki :: Valley Beyond (Suction)
Heiki Sillaste draws on his industrial roots while riffling through ambient, electro, house and techno. He selects elements from these varied genres with such a discerning ear that his compositions are never cluttered nor crowded.
Analytica :: Strategy of Tension (Ice Machine)
Their words pull no punches, they are fired with conviction and intent. Softening this directness is the composition of their songs, the rich instrumentation smoothing corners without diluting the message. An accomplished album from a political and polyphonic partnership.
