A show that’s been in the making for well over two decades, two hours dedicated to the most minute of the vinyl formats: seven inches! Robbie goes deep digging into the seven-inch shoebox and comes up with a glut of gold from far and wide. We get started in and around the year 2000, and revisit the turn of the millennium throughout this episode. The perverse world of V/Vm gets the platter spinning, the lager and fag ash stained “Rompford Rap” followed by some proper blip hop from Kid606 before Planet Mu sevens from Venetian Snares and o9.
Softer tones abound in this show with warm clicks and gentle electronics from Isan and Geiom. In a similar vein, Lowfish and the superb Skanfrom are well represented with some quality tracks from imprints like A.D.S.R. and Awkward Silence.
Heavier electro offerings arrive care of The Exaltics and The Suiciders. Much of this transmission is dedicated to a favorite genre of the seven inch format, synthwave. Gems from labels like Anna Logue, Genetic Music and Kernkrach shine with well crafted works of tear jerker machine pop. Never ones to shy away from some Italo Disco, Fake and Transport both feature for some mid 80s joy.
