Straddling minimal glitch and downtempo acidic sounds

A compact extended player from Serbia’s multi-talented Molez (aka Róbert Molnár Megyeri) with the four tracks on Álomkór being Part 1 of his CV Controlled Aesthetics series where the tunes are “self generated and patch oriented.”

Whether controlled or uncontrolled, each piece provides an intricate perspective of lo-fi modular electronics that straddles the lines between minimal glitch to downtempo acidic sounds as the title track showcases. Darker drone corridors filled with light echoes and shuffled beats appear on “Kedd” as “Örökletes Magány” transmits a fluid and glitchy abstract that continues to slither low to the ground with thudding bass and microscopic tentacles. “Tiszta Emlék” closes with crunched sound design where opposing dark-electronic forces slide into each other, weaving back and forth between organic field recordings and strange alien bits and bytes. If you could image a crossing between Valance Drakes, Einoma and Scorn, this EP would be fitting.

Álomkór is available on Bandcamp.
