Processed acoustic motives and post-rock elements meet archaic electronic equipment and diverse effects.

A vast space of sentimental reveries

Multifaceted sound artist Nicola Fornasari (aka Xu), also known as Xu(e) with Andrea Poli, is back with a collaborative effort welcomed and signed by the highly productive indie DIY label Shimmering Moods.

In this new personal musical adventure Fornasari is accompanied by a bunch of electronic/avant-garde craft-based ambient artists, including Belaqua Shua who signed the first album a while ago for Triple Moon, Zengjungle, The Volume Setting folder (reviewed here) et al. This is an album of slow evanescence and alluring beauty built on soothing soundscapes interrupted by tiny incremental changes and partly melodious vibes. Processed acoustic motives and post-rock elements meet archaic electronic equipment and diverse effects. Those grieving and plaintive nostalgic pieces will lead the listener into a vast space of sentimental reveries and morosely sorrowing wandering estates. All along the album, tangible feelings interact with aleatoric, flickering sound experiments. All in all, and without being overwhelming, Music for Vanished People is a recommended musical voyage whose sensibility and emotional vocabulary will seduce fans of unobtrusive electronic music with an impressionistic then glitch-esque, micro-noisy quality.

Music for Vanished People is available on Shimmering Moods.
