Contemporary-delicate neoclassical sequences blissfully punctuated by thundering-fractal electronic noises.
[Release page] Err0r_500 is a French multi-directional ambient post-rockin’ electronic project formed by the sound designer Mathieu Jacquot. Paths that lead to nowhere is his last effort to date (officially out the 22th of September). This collection of craft based experiments reveals an astonishing avalanche of iconoclastic-dada-esque, minimalist dreamscapes. The content is made of echoing guitar tones and drones, noisy-aleatoric manipulations, altered and elliptical electronic embellishments. The result is quite unique, unusual, beautifully sorrowful, evocative and strangely austere. A highly individual mature style which encompasses the essence of avant-garde music due to the presence of blasting convoluted-absurd noises. However with a nice intuitive talent the pieces are meticulously orchestrated and always approach a cheerful sense of melody mainly provided by the warm and static guitar / piano chords. Contemporary-delicate neoclassical sequences blissfully punctuated by thundering-fractal electronic noises. Paths that lead to nowhere is an ambivalent “luminous-shadowy”effort. A playful semi-electronic album with a great ritually melodic pathos. A real innovative curiosity and an absolute recommended listening.
