Fourier Transform dive into their archive, blending past releases with fresh reinterpretations across house, techno, and electro. Featuring original works from Dark Male, G-Prod, Inkipak, and The Vast Profound, the Remixes EP showcases five distinct remixes that span moods from introspective to floor-focused.

Fourier Transform are exploring their back catalogue for inspiration, previous albums plumbed alongside brand new material. Dark Male, G-Prod, Inkipak, and The Vast Profound offer the original material for five remixers that venture through genres and styles.

“The Source” is kept in the family with brother Colin Dale interpreting Dark Male’s track. Dale adds a late-night smoldering quality to his sibling’s piece, samples echoing over clean snapping beats as a melting acid bass drips into a squalid pool. Taken from G-Prod’s double CD album, Harmonic Analysis, David Duriez’s Guidance Mix of “Rhode’s Of Life” picks up where Dale leaves off. A house groove is lifted by whoops while a squalid TB303 digs ever deeper to find the speakers’ sweet spot. MOY’s energy packed imagining of Inkipak’s “Fifty One” follows. Drum patterns are broken before chopped and then splintered, a barrage of rim shots blister into braindance belligerence. Ireland’s Derek Carr takes on The Vast Profound’s “Singularity.” This stripped back techno remake is a Detroit slowburner with Carr keeping the sound palette pure and uncluttered. Elegant and intelligent, a deep dance floor immersion. The Vast Profound closes with a superb remix of G-Prod’s “Voyager.” Astral strings glimmer above incising snares with a squelching liquid line tethering this close to the turntable.

This EP meets at the cross roads of house and techno, with a smidgen of electro added for good measure. A collection of tracks where some can sit happy in the armchair and others are ready for the floor. A fantastic assortment and a credit to Fourier Transform‘s past and present expeditions.
