A frenetic voltage crackles—diffuse yet finely honed into serrated, dub-drenched silhouettes—across Protected by The Mellowtrons (aka Lee Walker).

A frenetic voltage crackles—diffuse yet finely honed into serrated, dub-drenched silhouettes—across Protected by The Mellowtrons (aka Lee Walker). Within its quadriptych of transmission, fragmented contours emerge as throbbing rhythms and spectral oscillations meander through warped terrains of residue, wreckage, digital abrasion, and machinic pulsework. Fragile harmonics glint and vanish, while each jagged articulation conjures a sense of disquiet that feels strangely vital.

Remote signals unravel, cocooned in slo-mo strata, on “Doupla.” Temporal slipstreams spiral in “2_B_4 Dub,” shedding chromatic breakbeat flares across barren ridges. “Right 2 Start” mutates into shifting membranes of motoric churn and glitch haze. Terminal track “SYN SEN” detonates as a modular blitz—part synthetic shimmer, part pulverized rave monolith—surging beyond past output from his Chill Out archives three decades deep, yet preserving the skewed groove fantasia that situates him in the same alien constellation as Meat Beat Manifesto, Aphex Twin, and Orbital. Among one of our favorite EP’s of 2025.
