This compilation is a tribute to the band as well as a testament to their enduring power and relevance in these dark and uncertain times.
Voidstar Productions, the legendary New England outfit led by the notorious Deftly-D, have released a tribute to the equally legendary, equally notorious industrial band Consolidated. For those of you who weren’t around for it or were still listening to Hootie, Consolidated were made up of members Mark Pistel, Adam Sherburne and Philip Steir forming an industrial band out of San Francisco in the late 80’s. They were a combination of The Dead Kennedys, Public Enemy, Can, Wire and Nitzer Ebb to name but a few like minded artists. A deeply political and stridently independent band they ruled the nightclubs with their beats while educating the people. Founder Mark Pistel went on to work with Meat Beat Manifesto and Michael Franti’s older, cooler band The Disposable Heroes of Hiphopracy.
