V/A :: Tribute to Nikola Tesla (World’s Most)

Diving through a plethora of magnetized formations, each offering scrapes the surface of IDM, broken beat, drill ‘n bass, micro-rhythms, distorted time signatures, shredded ambient interludes, fierce electrical noise and a current of deformed percussive beauty.

[Download] Centered around expressive electronic experiments, this newly charged digital imprint (brought to life by William Rosario aka Asymmetrical Head) springs to its feet with a free tribute compilation to Nikola Tesla (the historic inventor, mechanical & electrical engineer extraordinaire). But what does Nikola Tesla have to do with this relatively new breed of sound engineers? Inspired by the successes, failures, inventions, personality, and life of Nikola Tesla, these thirteen contributors offer their take on music passing through disjointed levels of hyperspace.

Diving through a plethora of magnetized formations, each offering scrapes the surface of IDM, broken beat, drill ‘n bass, micro-rhythms, distorted time signatures, shredded ambient interludes, fierce electrical noise and a current of deformed percussive beauty. Moments of clarity reveal themselves courtesy of Reticent, Zephyr Nova, Lascaille, This Is The Sun and Own Gilbride; their presentations glisten with an atmospheric tinge that glues the entire package together. The intermediate sonic counterparts tend to pop, buzz and whir like tangled wires vying to tap into aged analog devices. The bursts of random noise, digital sprinkles and chaotic experiments seem to morph into their own pathways (think of older Rephlex, and the days of Zod) causing the mood of this compilation to shift around during its rotation.

For a newly established label, World’s Most manages to capture the audio signatures of up-and-coming musicians that could very well define the next iteration of derailed listening music. Fans of oscillating analog-to-digital waves will find comfort in filling their hard drives with this varied slice of music.
