Dcast Dynamics Eleuthera EP (ISO-109EP) is four tracks from Shad T. Scott, Miami’s quintessential electro maestro. Scott, long-known for works under his Isophlux and Gosub monikers among others, has long been at work in the electronic scene probing depths and bringing the results to your ears and mind. Eleuthera is a solid modern electro workout from a master. “Ritual Ascension” opens with the solid chug of 808 kick’n snare which gives way to the subtle throbbing of bass as waves of synth pads float over this while burbling arpeggios accompany the rhythm.

“Eleuthera Shadows” combines Vladislav Delay drones with Drexciya rhythms in a pulsing wave preceding sparse and hesitant synth plucks which give the track an anxious feel as if one were witnessing a heist or car chase complete with disjointed barking dogs. “Output” works four on the floor 808 kicks to lay it down while greasy bass synths barge in and haggle for prominence in the stereo field, eventually working into a dark acidic ride along midnight highways of silicon and bone. “Lucayan Rites” closes out the op’s unrelenting pace with some dark electro grace, where pads and metallic synths assume formation over the juddering bass in an alien landscape where machine fledglings learn to fly among the UFO’s. Walk, don’t run.
