Anthiliawaters :: Barcelona EP (Isophlux)

Another stunning release of absolutely pristine, beautiful Detroit influenced techno and electro in the purest vein of Drexciya and Gerald Donald works.

Pristine, beautiful Detroit influenced techno and electro

Years ago I came across the previous album, The Miles Without You, by Anthiliawaters (Isophlux, 2008)—I was confused because I had discovered it while looking for more Gerald Donald aliases and the music was strikingly similar to something James Stinson and Gerald Donald would have done together. So I was very surprised when this EP came out with only Gosubs’ name on it, the previous album being a product of himself and John Wend.  This is another stunning release of absolutely pristine, beautiful Detroit influenced techno and electro in the purest vein of Drexciya and Gerald Donald works. Hands down one of the tightest, smoothest, and most enjoyable homages to the great city and with an unmistakable The Other People Place and Drexciyan influence, yet cruising through the neighborhoods of Jeff Mills and Kevin Saunderson. Strongly recommended.
