The feeling is that these productions live on their own life, but that they travel in parallel with the original tracks.

A new path to get lost within

Reflections Revisited, a reworking of the album dedicated to one of his most significant works, “The Road,” a project that aimed, succeeding, to interpret the spirit that informed the film version of the novel made in 2009 by John Hillcoat. Reflections Revisited is the remix companion release to the Reflections from the Road. The original album, released in February of this year, was inspired by Cormac McCarthy’s post-apocalyptic novel The Road. The album also features two previously unreleased tracks from the Reflections from the Road sessions.

The list of artists participating in these reworks consists of familiar names from the n5MD label such as Ocoeur and Tangent, as well as Italian artist Eraldo Bernocchi, electronic producer from Greece, Miktek, experimental composer Giulio Aldinucci, Berlin-based artist Martina Bertoni, as well as Giuseppe Verticchio under the name NIMH, and Andrea Bellucci, a member of ILUITEQ, experimenting with electronic music under the alias Ithaki.

ILUITEQ has lately came to a personal vision, along with their ambient, intimate, and experimental electronics, take the duo’s musical research into sound design and sound synthesis techniques to a higher level. Compared to the original, the track-list expands to thirteen tracks, adding to the eight that composed Reflections from The Road two compositions (“The Road” and “Don’t Runaway”) resulting from unused recording sessions, two versions of “Long way, new home,” one of the key episodes of the album, and two bonus remixes of “It happened in July” and “Things are not what they seem” curated by Andrea Bellucci under the theme Ithaki, which is also titled “Before and after” and “New reality.”

The feeling is that these productions live on their own life, but that they travel in parallel with the original tracks. Perhaps it is no coincidence that the single “Don’t Run Away” is placed in the middle of the journey; those who follow and know the touch of the Milanese duo immediately feel a different depth than the new tracks re-worked. The same songs have been put in the hands of producers all with an almost unique musical vision, which eventually leads to feel this new album as a new path to get lost within and then find them in the sound of ILUITEQ.
