Toytronic :: Re-Release Campaign

(06.15.05) The rare, early vinyl-only releases on the Toytronic label, from the likes of Gimmik, Multiplex, Num Num and Mr. Projectile, have for a long time now been some of the most collectable and highly sought after records on the IDM and eletronica scene, fetching high prices at online auctions and collectors stores in their various, exotically packaged forms. Furthermore, the material on these releases has remained exclusive and never been made available in its entirety elsewhere. For some time now, Toytronic have been planning to re-issue some of these classic early releases that helped to establish the label’s excellent reputation.

To this end, Toytronic have announced the re-issue of their debut release, Gimmik’s Load-Error EP. The first in an ongoing series of specially repackaged CD-only editions, many of which are set to include new and exclusive tracks, these all too rare early releases will once again be available to the non-ebaying public, and on a digital format for the first time.

The artwork shown below for the TOY1CD re-issue is to become the standard artwork template for all of the forthcoming re-releases to ensure that, like their 12″ releases in the custom Toytronic mailer sleeves, each item in the series feels as though it is part of a set.

A product of good old eighties Britain, screwed up by school, shat out by university and infuriated by anything corporate, I have never studied music, played an instrument beyond learning and then quickly forgetting the piano, rarely go to gigs and hold no particular interest in music hardware. Since then I have written for igloomag.com in an attempt to persuade you, the readers, not to make my early, blinkered mistakes, but instead to brave the waters of the ever deepening oceans of musical possibilities that exist out there. You wouldn’t want your life to be boring or humdrum, so why should the music you listen to be?
