The result is captivating, thoughtful, emotive, strange, and navigating through cerebral sound waves, smooth atmospherics, moody-esque sculpted improvisations to radical rhythmically-orientated and almost glitch-like experimentations.

People Like Us :: COPIA (Cutting Hedge)
In a way this album can be thought of as a collective mirror reflecting the sound prerogatives and choices of People Like Us and the many guest musicians involved as they wander through the library. From this fact people often infer that the library is infinite, because it sounds like they have used an infinite number of pieces to create this kaleidoscopic collection of musical associations.

Matmos are masters of the electronic concept album, and I was delighted that the archive in question is the plethora of “sound” albums released by the maverick founder of Folkways, Moses Asch. Beyond the concept, these glitchy, rhythmic, noisy, textural pieces are a joy to listen to and behold.
