Across 2025, hundreds of releases surfaced, with December granted space to settle. From that sweep emerged a carefully shaped collection of favorites, each paired with links to Igloo reviews and release pages. Arrangement follows artist names in alphabetical order, while a snapshot of tracks lives on our Soundcloud playlist, joined by random artwork highlights. No crowns, no rankings, no runners-up—only records that resonated.
Stanza IV is the latest chapter in Benoît Pioulard’s ambient series—a richly textured collection of slow-moving, analog-driven compositions blending guitar, tape loops, field recordings, and synths. Deeply meditative and emotionally resonant, the album is paired with Stanza IV [Versions], a full-length rework collection featuring artists like Clarice Jensen, Arovane, and Markus Guentner, offering new dimensions to Pioulard’s immersive sound world.
It’s hard to be cranky when listening to the soothing sounds presented by Michael Grigoni and Pan•American in their first collaboration, New World, Lonely Ride, a journey into the majestic physical landscape of America as well as its grim psychic underside.
Lake Fire is not only a testament to Morgan’s artistic growth but also a powerful reflection on the ongoing dialogue between destruction and creation—an urgent reminder of our interconnected existence. It’s a profoundly dense and beautiful, contemplative work that offers both solace and insight in turbulent times.
Even though these tracks were created for different projects, Shards doesn’t feel like a mere compilation. Instead, it plays like a carefully curated journey through Hecker’s brooding, textural world.
Combining calming dub, shoegaze (shoegauze), and sinuous psychedelic/guitar inflections, Recollection delivers an emblematic return to some familiar sounds, easily pulling in fans of these genres, and others besides.

Belong’s return with Realistix IX is quite a success. They improve significantly on where they had left off and also make use of their noisy aesthetics, combining the two into a satisfying sonic collection.

It feels almost odd to say that this is Adam Wiltzie’s solo debut album; Wiltzie has been working in various groups for over thirty years, groups with which he’s amassed a pretty large catalog, but one that was lacking his very own solo creation.
The use of the standard music trifecta of bass, drums, and melody does ground these pieces in the familiar, yet the way Keith Fullerton Whitman has broken these out of their mold means what he is doing is still risky and groundbreaking research.
