Experimental Electronic Music
Aura leans more toward the hip-hop beat era than straight IDM, experimental in spirit, with enough left-field nuance that it resists being filed simply as instrumental hip-hop. It’s a document of a producer figuring out his own DNA in real time, two decades before anyone thought to look back and call it influential.
The downtempo chug is still there, but it’s been processed through decades of IDM evolution, filtered through the same sensibility that informed Beans’ abstract hip-hop work and Schematic’s experimental roster. DL Poisons’ unsettling in the way that the best experimental electronic music should be, familiar enough to feel grounded, strange enough to keep you off balance.
Sound arrives warped, bent out of shape, tangled inside broken-beat filaments. Dokkōdō (Y-7-ZERO))) moves through knots of blips and bleeps, a maze of micro-techno sparks, flickering bass currents, and crooked mechanical murmurs.
Audio Scape is a finely balanced, genre-fluid electronic mosaic curated by Berlin duo ChillinBerlin, where eleven deftly sequenced tracks move seamlessly from abstract hip-hop and glitch to downtempo funk and braindance, sustaining intrigue from first pulse to final fade.
