This album sees Rafael Toral manipulating various sound sources to create a vast piece that goes through really, really slow chord progressions, but echoes with such wonderful textures and dynamics that it becomes almost transcendental.

vssp :: Over the sun (Kalamine)
As a whole, vssp’s Over the sun has a consistent feel and a steady pace. It is best for meditative moods, for periods of quiet and extended listening. The temporary nature of modern life is connoted throughout.
Felipe Vaz :: Architecture and Distraction (Evel)
Fast beats and non-rhythms flicker and fracture, revealing what appears to be the unpolished insides of the tools employed during the creative process.
Michael Trommer :: Spectral Sound System (Panospria / No Type)
Delivering a variety of soundscapes blended in unison, the extended piece exudes ambient, drone, experimental, field recording, and minimal characteristics.
Ian Boddy :: Modal Operandi (Quiet Details)
Modal Operandi is a fulfilling listen. Tracks bear fruit through melodic complexity and the inclusion of quiet, often minute details that can be more and more readily detected on repeat listens.
Synthetic Ecology 2 :: Finding the edge, some thoughts about ‘experimental music’
Experimental music can mean many things—often tracks are beat-less or off-beat, atonal or noisy, or in some way either more or less dense than other genres. My point is not to establish orthodox genre boundaries.
Celer :: Cursory Asperses (Room40)
It has very spacious music, minimal development, and is best enjoyed on a medium volume level, filling up your space without being too much of a presence.
Demetrio Cecchitelli :: Unity (ROHS!)
Cecchitelli’s style reminds me a bit of Angelo Badalamenti, a chosen soundtrack composer for David Lynch, among others. It is much like his, but with some Leo Kottke added, with a similar style of guitar melodies.
Ümlaut :: Half the Speed of Light (Self Released)
Jeff Düngfelder (also known as Ümlaut) develops a musique concrète resource and minuscule time-capsules to lose yourself within.
ЧЕРНИХОВ | CERNICHOV :: We are all deaf (Mahorka)
The album architecture is mainly built around sneakily and meandering sonic textures, layering drone vibes with plenty of reverberant signals and micro noises.
Aidan Baker :: Pithovirii (Glacial Movements)
All motifs, tone colors and sinuous textures are beautifully sculpted and progressively transport the listener in deep mental spaces submerged by a delicate and tasteful melancholic gloom.
