Wolves and Horses is the musical project of Belgium based sound artist Christian Saint Viteux. In rather classical and immersive approaches with a strong emotional component Viteux offers a nice soundscaping, naturalistic and organic ambient EP.
This album is released as a digital effort on the newly launched UAE Records, Norway net-label specialized in experimental music and advanced electronic escapism. The imprint published the superb and recommended ambient isolationist work of Nodula. This debut effort by Christian Saint Viteux is mainly built on soothing and peacefully moving synthesized tones and various digital equipment. The result is rather intuitive, delicate and melodiously inflected. With its dark instrumental vein made of echoing sound forms, deep resonances and enveloping synth waves “Tears for the forgotten” is my favorite track on this album. Some percussive parts appear time to time to reinforce the cinematic touch. Very spacey, softly melodious and almost new agey, this album will appeal to fans of sensitive synthesized textures and playful meditative electronics of Matthias Grassow, Alio Die, Artemiev and anything from 80s L.A. sacred space music.
