An emotional and nostalgic dive in the subjective memory of the listener, maintaining an atmosphere of ashen beauty and darkly reflective melancholia. Icy drones, enigmatic electro-acoustic moves and found sounds interact harmoniously and in a misty way.
Pascal Savy is one key actor in the DIY minimalist organic ambient music field. He is a French born sound artist now based in London and known for his releases published by Eilean, Experimedia among others. His slowly moving soundscapes and deeply evocative blurred melancholic pieces, sometimes hypnotically structured are worth to be discovered. Colour Fields is his new album to date, edited for a small number of K7 at Belgium indie label Audio.Visuals.Atmosphere. In this new effort the sound chemistry explores the decay of tones and the expression of faded memory in a compelling and absorbing ghostly ambient elegy. The sound architecture is mainly based on samples, decaying loops, timbral experimentations, linear distorted motifs and electronic arrangements. It is an emotional and nostalgic dive in the subjective memory of the listener, maintaining an atmosphere of ashen beauty and darkly reflective melancholia. Icy drones, enigmatic electro-acoustic moves and found sounds interact harmoniously and in a misty way. Fans of Lawrence English, Rafael Anton Irisarri, Yuri Lugovsky and Tape Loop Orchestra won’t be disappointed. Warmly recommended for fans of downtempo ambient minimalism, electro-acoustic researches and layered drones.
