Taking a more laid back approach this time around, albeit with a darker strain attached to emotive ambient/industrial bents, Greece-based ΠΕΡΑ ΣΤΑ ΟΡΗ continues to explore and redefine himself, this time for Amsterdam’s MUSAR imprint. On IMMI, the ominous mood is offset by ricocheting beatwork and breakbeat impulses that never outstay their welcome (ref. “Bouncing/Lassitude”). Elsewhere you can find echoed percussion and ethereal voices drift in the wind on “CIN1″—an infectious track with looping synthesizer work as Kamila Govorcin reworks the same track reshaping it to a more clinical technoid form, stripping it down to the bone. Tri Repetae-era fans will rejoice with “SCATTER 0ˆ” spinning on the platter—the downtempo post-industrial and broken rhythm continues to sputter in all directions and creates a highlight on this short run 18-minute extended player. As an avid collector of all things ΠΕΡΑ ΣΤΑ ΟΡΗ, this one is not to be missed either.
