Time-traveled sound escapes and vast spaces coalesce
Through Future In Motion, a nine-piece suite of sweet micro textures and tones surrounded by tranquil ambient electronic connections, time-traveled sound escapes and vast spaces coalesce. Orghanon (real name Sergio Calzoni; also known by the aliases Act Noir, Colloquio, and ILUITEQ) drifts to the outermost margins, fine-tuning soundscape layers into exploratory listening environments, while downtempo and glitch extrusions build suspensefully. The album’s clarity emerges from this refined balancing act between light and dark, melancholy and post-industrial threads—creating perplexing sonic patterns that spike at all the right angles.
Note that with these fuzzy atmospheric blips, bleeps, clicks, and cuts being projected upon muted sine waves, Future In Motion was published in late summer of 2024, and nevertheless still feels cozy on these colder winter days, creating an undoubtedly welcomed getaway. Highlights include “Yonder,” “Cause-effect,” “Damage,” “Sharashka,” and “Replicant (part 2).”
