A mélange-tinged journey

Listening to Onepointwo’s latest release Frequencies, I find myself stuck in some exoplanet’s Lagrange Point where sounds from my home planet—radio broadcasts, air traffic control, music from another era—get trapped and swirled in with the communications of vast and disparate alien cultures; some good, some possibly angry with my presence, and some other. It’s a mélange-tinged journey that keeps me grounded in my culture and pining for the familiar sounds at times, but eager to continue exploring beyond what I know; and beyond what I know is possible. This is an album in the proper sense. It deserves to be listened to in its entirety. I’d write something longer, but I need to get back to my comms panel and continue listening to this album (and all the others by Onepointwo) hoping for some clue as to why I am here and what it all means. Major Tom, eat your heart out.
