Jilk :: Found Little Lost (noci miste)

A delicate time-capsule composed of fragile electronics recommended for fans of B. Fleischmann, Ovuca, ISAN, and múm.

Micro-acoustic fragments flare across the terrain

Found Little Lost contains nine tracks by Jilk that are minimalist electronic flutters. An intriguing release in which, upon being contacted by a primary school, the artist gathered discovered noises from 2021 elementary school pupils. Exceeding expectations by delivering significantly more than the estimated 50 sounds in total, in the end, they produced a mini-album with five or six sounds used in each of the two-minute vignettes. Micro-acoustic fragments flare across the terrain with the aptly named Found Little Lost, while “Flutter Flurry” flawlessly unfolds.

Where the trajectory dips into pitter-patter acoustic anomalies, subtle glitch elements navigate through tiny technoid cracks—see “Hopefully We Won’t Notice Each Other” and “Found Little Minimal.” Jilk travels beyond space and time with abstract ambient spheres featured on “Piece 9 Deconstructed,” as subtle sounds drift in and out of its silence. Finding solace in these miniature moments; pieces like “Gas Nap” are delicate electrical marvels, and “Mall Closer” concludes with dilapidated blips and bleeps. A delicate time-capsule composed of fragile electronics recommended for fans of B. Fleischmann, Ovuca, ISAN, and múm.
