NYORAI :: Shinkirō (蜃気楼) (Mahorka)

A well-balanced album of emotive experimental electronic music that aims to expose finer visual-audio fragments in its dense sound design. An upper-level release we’ll keep in constant rotation.

Under the name NYORAI, multi-talented Japanese electronic music producer and DJ Yusaku Iida crafts his own unique panoramic of ambient soundscapes, electronica, IDM, and experimental music. The tracks featured on  Shinkirō (蜃気楼) kick-off with a strong theme of synth-swirls and overcast ambience on “Komorebi (木漏れ日)” and continues with similar motifs on “Konjiki (金色)”—a perfect example of inevitable sensory amplification. While tracks like “Uminoe (海の絵),” “Hien (飛燕),” and the bleeping beauty of “Yurameki (揺らめき)” focus on expansive atmospheric and textured glitch dynamics, its close siblings “Ichinyo (渀如)”—featuring melancholic drum’n bass threads—transition smoothly as the technoid flutter and clicks of “Kaikō (邂逅)” dissipate. Shinkirō (蜃気楼) is a well-balanced album of emotive experimental electronic music that aims to expose finer visual-audio fragments in its dense sound design. An upper-level release we’ll keep in constant rotation.
