Yes, we are able to sense something. A tingling, textured digital flurry—with melodic parts vying for our attention—blend with tones, drones, and bits and pieces that pop and completely surround us.
While “Just Like Everybody Else” dabbles in tinier sound explorations, “Picking At It” offers another soothing layer of drifting pads and feather-like glitch. When “Larger Gaps” comes to an end, the timid and nearly transparent sound structures collapse, allowing lullaby melodics to shine through slightly more than before. The closing track, “If That’s What You Said…,” adds pops and bleeps to the mix, shifting into the atmosphere with its sliced and diced electronics. Baffling yet utterly subdued.
