Muted segments become baffling earmarks for the brain
There’s something bubbling just beneath the surface; Neuro… No Neuro captures five minuscule sound bytes where obscurely formed electronic shapes become invisible and peculiar. The “memory gaps,” as the artist describes, are subtle and come across as clinical electronic experiments for the mind, just barely hovering over the three-minute mark. Humming across drone landscapes, muted segments become baffling earmarks for the brain to decipher as semi-formed melodic fragments vanish into thin air. Absolute minimalism and drifting noises ‘n notes are accurately considered “disconcerting” as the Arizonian notes; and yet we’ll fall back on a previous description from his Faces & Fragments release (Audiobulb, 2022), defined as “neurological flux and context wandering.” The tagline still fits, as Liminal Moments, or transition, let’s say, maneuvers sound in arcane directions. Having had releases with Audiobulb and Mille Plateaux, Neuro… No Neuro continues to expand his reach within the experimental electronic field.
